Remember when comic strips used to be cool? I mean, not that they're uncool now, but they used to be slightly more awesome with Prince Vallient and Spider-Man. And before both of those, DC had some strips of their own. I missed out on those, but now I get a second chance to see them.
According to ICV2.com, IDW is releasing collections of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman comic strips from "the good old days":
Arriving in July, the first volume in this new series will be Superman: The Silver Age Newspaper Dailies, Vol. 1: 1958-1961. With nearly 800 strips, this collection includes the iconic and classic, black and white Superman illustrations of Curt Swan, Wayne Boring, and Stan Kaye. At 288 pages, the 11"x8.5" hardcover retails for $49.99.
At least two more collections will follow, collecting both the on-again/off again Batman and Robin strip, and the year-long run of the Wonder Woman strip.
Sounds like these might make good holiday list items.
